In the several weeks since that AMA not much has changed—and I question that it's going to modify in 2019, either. Outside of the periodic designer Q&A that discusses a few of curated concerns, there's still a general sensation that problems are falling on hard of hearing hearing. Situation in point: Since the making of update 8.1 in Dec, gamers have been stressing about massive server lag that WoW Classic Gold often makes enjoying impossible. It's been an issue that, for a few weeks, has not had any kind of formal recognition.
It's not like Blizzard has been dead silent—Blizzcon 2018 exposed lots of interesting information about what's coming in future patches—but gamers still experience left unaware when it comes to a lot of their problems. When update 8.1 released, for example, there was a big list of undocumented changes with some being extremely unpopular. There's a lot of room for improvement, but if Blizzard was not able to create a recognizable modify returning in Sept, I'm doubtful they'll be able to pull it together now. Grizzled experts have often observed these kinds of placating guarantees before. Expect it to be a running theme throughout 2019 that Blizzard still isn't recognizing what irks many of its gamers.
Now that we've had a few a few weeks to perform with Tides of Revenge, Battle for Azeroth's 8.1 spot, it's obvious that this isn't the redemptive update gamers were hoping. Don't get me incorrect, 8.1 included a lot of excellent repairs to some of Warcraft's more shocking systems—the greatest of which being the new Powerhouse Residuum currency that assures dungeon-runners a best-in-slot item every few a few weeks. But aside from the new Darkshore Warfront and two new Isle Trips, Tides of Revenge does not bring all that much to the table to keep gamers interested. Later in Jan, Season 2 of Battle for Azeroth's endgame starts with the starting of the new raid, new Mythic+ modifiers, and a new PvP group. But even that is just more of what gamers are already doing.
There is a shine of hope on the skyline in spot 8.2, which is predicted to arrive sometime june. Similar to Legion's final significant update, this significant update, known as Rise of Azshara, will present whole new areas to discover in inclusion to new dungeons and raids. It's forming up to seem like a favorably large spot that will provide gamers much more than just a several of time of quests to rip through.
